GLENN D. NAYDAN
Artistic Director, Violin & Viola


    Glenn Naydan – Born in New York and began his performing career at age 17 which he was the concert master of the Youth Orchestra and performing recitals regularly. He was also a member of the Paganini club performing strictly Paganini’s music. In 1975 Mr. Naydan attended the Congress of Strings where he studied with acclaimed violinist Joyce Flissler. Also in 1975 (age 18) He received a full talent scholarship to S.U.N.Y at Albany to study under Dr. Nathan Gottschalk. Mr. Naydan won 1st prize in the 1980 S.U.N.Y.A Concerto Competition and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance on Violin and Viola in the same year.

    After Relocating to Stockton California (1981) to study viola with renowned violist Rolf Persinger, Mr. Naydan began his professional orchestral career Performing with Stockton , Modesto and Sacramento Symphonies. In 1999 Mr. Naydan was a member of the popular Star-Lite Quintet recording 2 CDs and concertizing in Northern California. In addition to the Star-Lite Quintet, Mr. Naydan has recorded with Kitara, Sacramento Symphony and Music in the Mountains Orchestra. Mr. Naydan is currently a member of the Sacramento Philharmonic, Ballet, Opera and Choral Society Orchestra’s, Gold Country Orchestra and Concertmaster of the Merced Symphony. Mr. Naydan also performs with many Northern California chamber groups and other world-renowned musical group.

    In conjunction with Mr. Naydan’s extensive performance career, he has developed an individualistic motivational teaching style. With an emphasis on advanced technique at an early stage, Mr. Naydan motivates his students to attain the fastest results possible with a thorough understanding of technique, musicality and sensitivity.
